Michael A. Briola
Partner & Co-Founder

With highly diversified strengths in technology, advertising, marketing and trend analysis, Mr. Briola brings to Anubis Partners, LLC a career devoted to identifying, positioning, evangelizing and monetizing values-based emerging markets and technologies.

Mr. Briola previously served as President and Chief Marketing Officer for Trilogy Capital Partners, where he was a key architect in the concepting and execution of strategic consulting services for Trilogy’s public company clients. His unique expertise proved invaluable in the areas of client positioning, branding and execution along with the creation of highly proactive financial communications and marketing programs designed to drive and maximize shareholder value. Concurrently serving as President and Chief Marketing Officer of China America Financial Communications Group (CAFCG), he applied his international and public company experience to successfully localize, brand and position US exchange-listed Chinese companies.

Mr. Briola’s entrepreneurial and business expertise is the result of more than a dozen years as founder and senior executive of cutting-edge companies in a number of sectors, including homeland security, technology, and marketing. He was a co-founder, Creative Director, and Executive Vice President of MindArrow Systems, Inc., a technology-driven marketing services company pioneering rich media communications for business and consumers. As Creative Director, his worldwide team of designers and producers developed successful online affinity marketing programs for many of the Fortune 500, including GM, Toyota, Bertelsmann Group (BMG), 20th Century Fox, NBC, Jive Records (including the online launches of Britney Spears and N*Sync), Northwest Airlines, the NBA, the NHL (Mighty Ducks), Oracle, Microsoft, and others.

He was co-founder and Senior Vice President for Universal Guardian Corporation, a publiclytraded Homeland Defense technology firm specializing in the development and deployment of integrated waterside security systems and non-lethal weapons technologies for the United States Navy and other public and private clients. Michael’s accomplishments at Universal Guardian included the concepting, design and branding of the company’s StunLight™ non-lethal weapons technology.

Mr. Briola also brings an advanced background in cutting-edge computer and digital communications technologies, and a proven ability to deploy that knowledge for the benefit of his client companies. As co-founder and Vice President of Marketing for Zap International, he was instrumental in the development and licensing of Zap’s rich media messaging technology to Sony Electronics, as well as for the company’s international sales channel and business development in Europe and Asia. Michael resides in Oregon with his wife and three children.

Jacob D. Cohen
Partner & Co-Founder

Prior to his position with Anubis, Jacob served as the Chief Financial Officer of The Renewed Group, Inc. - a manufacturer, wholesaler and retailer of eco-friendly and sustainable apparel primarily made from recycled textiles and under the brand name REUSE JEANS. Previous to Mr. Cohen's position at The Renewed Group, Mr. Cohen served from 2008 through 2010 as Executive Vice President and Controller of Metiscan, Inc., a publicly traded company, and as the President and Chief Executive Officer of one of its subsidiaries, Shoreline Employment Services, Inc. During his tenure at Metiscan, Mr. Cohen was instrumental in restructuring, reorganizing and operating the company and its five subsidiaries, and successfully raised over $8 million in equity financing for growth capital. Mr. Cohen also spearheaded the company’s financial audit process and managed its various filings with the SEC. From 2007 through 2008, Mr. Cohen served as the Chief Operating Officer of Artfest International, which he assisted in taking public at the end of 2007. Throughout his career, Mr. Cohen was involved in starting many new ventures, including The AdvertEyes Network, a digital signage advertising company where he served as founder and CEO. Other positions include investment advisor and institutional equity research analyst for Solomon Advisors and Huberman Financial, securities broker-dealers, from 2003 through 2005, and investment banker for Allegiance Capital, a middle market investment bank specializing on mergers and acquisitions, from 2005-2007. Mr. Cohen holds a Bachelors of Arts in International Economics and Finance from Brandeis University in Waltham, MA.

Casey Jensen
Partner & Co-Founder

Mr. Jensen has a strong background in finance and investment dating back to 1992, when he began work in the Commercial Equipment Leasing industry in Phoenix, AZ where Mr. Jensen provided millions in capital to small businesses across the United States.

Mr. Jensen later expanded his business endeavors by acquiring all of his securities licenses, including NASD Series 3, 7, 24, 55, 63 & 65 to enter the equity trading business. Mr. Jensen founded Synergy Pacific in 2000 in order to train and help investors to better understand the markets and position themselves to reduce and eliminate risks in their portfolios while maximizing gains. Mr. Jensen eventually purchased a stock brokerage in the Financial District of Phoenix, AZ in early 2001 where he managed over $100 Million of assets with a client base that included high net worth investors and international institutions.

By 2008 Mr. Jensen had shifted his focus on combining the experience of commercial finance and investment to enter the Investment Banking industry and later the world of Private Equity. In 2010 Mr. Jensen joined Heartland Capital Markets an Irving based Private Equity firm where he co-managed a variety of investments in high growth companies. Mr. Jensen also has direct investment experience in both Private and Public companies as well as Commodities and Real Estate.

K. Bryce (Rick) Toussaint MBA
Partner & Co-Founder

Mr. Toussaint has 15+ years of business experience in corporate finance; mergers & acquisitions and SEC Compliance (Public Companies). During his tenure at KPMG Peat Marwick, Mr. Toussaint developed the framework for his career in the finance markets and his experience has entailed serving domestic and international registrants (China & United Kingdom based entities) in the areas of M&A due diligence, periodic reporting (annual and quarterly Form 10-K and Form 10-Q, 8K’s, etc.), and initial registration statements and public offerings.

In addition, Mr. Toussaint has assisted numerous small and midsized companies raise working and expansion capital. Mr. Toussaint’s experience includes a broad range of industries, with particular emphasis in Energy, Oil & Gas, Health Care, Staffing/Outsourcing, Retail and Manufacturing.

Mr. Toussaint is a two-time graduate of Louisiana State University with a BS in Accounting in 1994 and an MBA in 1996. Mr. Toussaint passed the Texas Certified Public Accountant exam in 2001 and is fluent in Spanish.
